The alarm clock tore her from her slumber in a rude manner. Sitting up in bed she tried to find herself amdist the covers. Although she was thankful it coming two hours later than normal. Yes, sad but true eight am was sleeping in for Jordan.

Strechting across the bed she clicked the small button to the left to stop the incesant beeping. The sleepy muscles cried for her movement to stop. Curling onto her side she opened her eyes taking in her purple bedroom in all it's mod glory. The clear celing fan with it's neon middle spun in the center of the room.

Thinking of all the reasons she should get out of bed raced in her mind. Only, the first friday off in what seemed liked months begged for some leway. The blue phone rang on her night stand. Rolling over she answered in a sleepy voice.

"Hello."
"Hey baby, did I wake you up?" A low voice rummbled though the reciever.
"Not at all, I was laying here trying to will myself out of bed."
"Any luck with that?"
"Not really" she laughed a bit.

"Well I was just wondering if we are still on for tonight?"
"Yeah Kera and Steve are bringing some movies and I was going to feed ya'll... something." Her voice trailed off wondering how she could do that with baren cabinets. Mentally adding a trip to the market to her list.

"Are you still there?" Lance asked his suddenly silent girlfriend.
"Yeah, I'm still trying to wake up. By the way..."
"By the way?"
"Good morining baby."
"You too Kitty" She smiled into the phone hearing her nickname so early in the day.

"What are you doing now?" He asked, seemingly in the same postion she was in. Across his bed in only p.j. pants. He had one hand on his shirtless abdomen. The musles in his arm flexed as he held the phone to his ear with his other hand laying on his back.

"Getting ready to jump in the shower. I have a ton of shit to do today."
"Really? Like what?" He teased knowing her fridays were never dull.

"Hey that was a good one, have anymore?" She picked at his poor joke-teller skills.
"Ok, These three guys..."
"Bird!"
"Huh?"
"I was kidding." She laughed standing up making her way over to her closet. Propping up the phone on her shoulder she rummaged through a few garments. Pulling a black tee and jeans she walked back over to the bed.

"So what are you doing today?" she asked him looking around the room.

"I told Jace, I'd meet him and Dallas at the studio." He answered proud that he was choosen to enter the almighty lair. Where JC had been hiding out like the uni-bomber for the last few months. "Can you find your way through Lakewood?"
"They call it Langsford now..."
"Yeah they call Stewart, Metropolitian now. It doesn't change the neighborhood."

"Please don't worry about me. I can handle Atlanta."
"Says the whitest boy in town."
"Don't you have something to do right now?" He cut the conversation short so not to get annoyed. Her constant worrying was sweet, but her being three years his junior it did seem inaproprate at times. He knew she grew up in metro Atlanta, but he was a grown man.

"Ok, well call me at lunch just so I know you made it safely."
"Yes mother." He micked a child's voice.
"Boy I'll beat ya like a Mama never did" she joked.

"Bird loves Kitty."
"Kitty loves Bird." They said their goodbyes and hung up.

Chapter Two

When she wrapped the towel around her drenched skin the phone rang again. Making it to the device by the third ring she said hello.

"Joe, I need a favor."
"Yeah, what's up Moe?" Jordan recognized her sister's voice quickly.
"I have to work a double shift at the hosiptal. Can you pick up Victoria?"

"Where? When?"
"Dance class at 5:00..."
"Sure I'm on it."
"Your a life saver. I can pick her up at 6:30."

"What flavor?"
"What?"
"What flavor?
"Oh,," Morgan giggled. "Cherry!" They both laughed at the other. Jordan told her sister farewell and she got dressed.

At 9:00 on the dot she was in the tricked out celica in full make up and system bumping headed down Jonesboro Rd. The mall parking lot was filling up fast even though none of the stores were offically open. No matter the parking spot it was a hike to Jimmies.

Being passed by speedwalking senior citizens she cursed herself for skipping on her trip to the gym that week. Waving to merchants polishing up entrances she made it to her place of employment.

Jimmies was a trendy clothing store carrying mostly club-wear for men and women.
The metalic manicans in the window had been changed since the new lines had come in. The mirrored celings served double puropose as with any retail store. The gate was only half up when she limboed under it.

Jax was at the counter counting out her till. Her gothic persona was set off by the ever growing silver appendadge collection she seemed to collect on her face. The labre, both eyebrows, nose; including a bullring, and interestingly her cheeks were not a safe haven either.

"Greetings" Jax seemed to stop only enough to glance in her direction.
"Whatta ya say? Whatta ya know?" Jordan answered back admiring Buckie's diligent worker-ant mode only a few feet away.

"Morning" he mumbled looking pissed. Jordan knew why. He could not stand Jax, and here he was ready to endure an eight hour shift with her.

"Hey dude" she answered. Buckie could name a million rock bands before you could name three and that was something he never minded letting anyone know. His Slipknot shirt was a friday special. He was about 6'1 with blonde hair, rocker to the bone. James Hatfield's long lost son.

Putting the till in the drawer, Jax leaned over the counter to hand Jordan her check along with the next week's schedule.
"Thanks girl..." Jordan accepted the papers and skimmed the text.

"Sure. Guess what." Jax had a smirk on her face.
"What?"
"Carrie came back and bitched Rachel out for the store room being a wreck."
"What do you mean the store room is a wreck? I cleaned up the store room yesterday."

"Well Rach had her boyriend's kids back there last night when Carrie came in."
"What the hell?"
"Yeah and Rach told her that you never cleaned up. So she thought it would be ok for the kids to stay here until she got off work."
"Tell me you are joking!"

"Carrie wants to see you. She is going to call you today."
"She can call me, and I'm going to tell her. Rach has been messing up the whole time she was gone."
"Tell me about it, Rachel is the one who made me work with that bastard Buckie!"

"Chill out Jax, be nice to him."
"He hates me!"
"Yeah I do!" Buckie yelled from the other side of the store hearing everything they had said.
Jax flipped him off when he turned his back.
"I saw that!"
"Piss off Plucky."
"YOU guys!!" Jordan tried to make them stop the war of words.

"Tell her Jordan!" Buckie laughed to shut up Jax up.
"Ah, go work at Hot Topic!!" Jax hissed the worse insult that could have been thrown in the present company. Not taking it Buckie smartly retorted with.
"Can you give me a good refrence beings you shop there with Avril!" Jordan could not help but to bust out laughing laying on the counter for support. Everyone knew he had won that round.

"Ok, ok..." Jordan calmed her laughing to answer her cell. "Hello?...Yeah I'm on my way."
"It's going to be a long day Jax mumbled as Jordan said her byes and left the store.

Chapter Three

HONK_HONK_HONK!!!!
Jordan laid on the horn outside of Kera's house. The white two story home stood under a grove of evergreens. The gravel driveway allowed the celica to whip round with ease.

Practically running down the front steps She came in to view. Her short blonde hair stylish as usal was set a glow by her powder blue caffeine UFOs and white tee. The vans finished the outfit with a sporty flavor.

Kera's car was in the shop and Jordan offered to take her to the bank on her way as well. Falling into the toyota she closed the door with a smile.

"Word!" Kera joked as Jordan put the car in gear.
"Sup playa?"
"Wait till you hear this shit..." She began to tell her about work and her new GM, as they drove away from the house. "And then he was like "You don't want to be on my bad side." Can you believe the prick?"
"Sounds like some drama to me..." Jordan understood the problem and made a mental note of the discrepancy.

The drive-up window was out of the question with the line wrapped around the building. Not to mention they had two different accounts they were dealing with. Jordan parked as close as she could, but it was friday after all. Making it in the building they discovered that the line resembled the one outside. People from all walks of life stood single file waiting for there turn to be served.

Killing time Jordan told her about her own work-related frustrations.
"Why would Rachel have her boyfriend's kids at work?"
"I know right..."
"Wait, why does she have a boyfriend with kids anyways? Especailly ones he doesn't have a babysitter for?"
"Don't think I have not already went throught this line of questioning."
"We so need new jobs!"
"We so need new lives!" They laughed and moved up another step closer to the counter.

"Goodness this is taking forever, They need to hurry up I'm hungry." Kera whinned at the bank line.
"What time is it?" Jordan pulled up her jacket sleeve to see her watch. "11:46.... Damn the time is flying. Yeah they need to hurry. We can grab lunch when we leave here."
"Sounds good, where we gonna eat?" She asked as they took another step.
"I dunno... Arby's?"
"Can we sit by the window?"
"Always!" They giggled again and Jordan's phone began to ring.

"Hello?"
"Kitty!"
"Aww hey Bird..."
"What's up baby?"
"Oh Kera and I are at the bank. Are you at the studio?"
"Yep, safe and sound. Dallas says Hi" She could hear shouting in the background as he finished. "And Josh says it too."
"Lots o' love all around" She smiled and was a bit annoyed to see it was her turn just as she had began talking to Lance. Directing Kera to go first she had another minute to converse.

Lance while across town sounded very close in her mind. He sat in the roller chair with his cell in hand. The day was productive and yet laid back at the same time. It never registered as work with JC and Dallas Austin. His Lucky Brand Baseball shirt went well with his baggy jeans he had elected to wear that day.The Local Motion hat covered his highlighted hair in the "Just out of bed" persona for the day.

Hearing Jordan's voice seemed to make him smile inside. She was the balance of charm and grace some how based in reality. He had never met some one who was not completely swept up into the business. A refreshing breath of oxygen to his brain. He knew he needed continuously. Things were painfully normal around her.

"So are you going to need me to bring anything tonight?" He asked her finding himself after a mental brainstorm.
"Just your sweet self, that sexy grin and deep voice..." She laughed as the teller called her up to the window. Laying her already filled out deposit slip along with her signed check she waited for the clerk to catch up with her.
"I think I can handle all that."
"Lord willing Bird..."
"Bird loves Kitty!"
"Kitty loves Bird!" She clicked the phone shut as the girl counted out half of the pay check. The odd words of the end of the conversation made her smile and a newly joining Kera roll her eyes. Laughing Jordan challenged them both to resist their own man's loving.

Making it to lunch the girls sat in the only spot they ever sat in the restaurant. Eating like ladies lasted only a moment for the starving best buds. Jordan skimmed over the to-do list again, this time writing the trip to the market down. Kera agreed to join her in paying a few bills.

"The phone & cable, then lights, and we can finish with water."
"What about your car and inurance?"
"Automatic draft from my checking..." Jordan explained.
"Oh ok then."

"Is there anywhere else you need to go?"
"Dude if we could hit Old Navy, I would truly love you."
"You already love me."
"Well yeah, Umm..."
"It's ok we can go right after the bills...Ok?"
"Okie dokie..."

"So how is Steven? You have bearly mentioned him today."
"Oh he is wonderful." Kera's eyes glazed over. "He is picking me up and we are going for the movies."

"Cool, cool. I will have Vic until six thirty." She told while checking her watch.
"Man, she is growing up so damn fast."
"Tell me about it, I swear I found a gray hair the other day and it's her fault."
"HAHA, Don't blame that baby for your grandma hair."

"No, she told her teacher, "Well if you'd get out from behind your desk and show us how to do this we just might learn something." Kera covered her mouth and busted out laughing.

"That child is in third grade..."
"I know and she thinks she is 30! They sent a note home to Morgan and Keith about her "Opinons".
